Moneypenny’s
Restaurant
Visit
Moneypenny’s Restaurant and step into the
bygone era of medieval graciousness. The image
is brought to life through the rich, earthy
tones of the décor and furnishings while the
original stone that occasionally peeps through
the plaster on the walls serves as the perfect
backdrop for an assortment of medieval themed
relics and pictures.
The fully air
conditioned restaurant takes its name from the
nearby historic Moneypenny’s lock gate on the
Lough Neagh to Carlingford Canal. With seating
for 60. it offers a cosmopolitan menu featuring
traditional Ulster fayre alongside
internationally renowned dishes.
Try a succulent
steak, cooked exactly to your liking, from prime
beef reared on the lush green pastures of County
Armagh or tempt the taste buds with a tender
salmon, fresh from the sea off Ardglass.
Spoil yourself
with a delicious home made dessert and then end
the culinary experience on a high note with a
traditional Irish coffee. The
wine selection served in the restaurant is
supplied by the distinguished James Nicholson
who has been The Northern Ireland Wine Merchant
of the Year no fewer than seven times in the
past eight years. Moneypenny’s
serves lunch daily (except Tuesday) from 12.30
pm – 2.30 pm. A traditional four course Sunday
Lunch is available with a selection of three
roast joints to tempt the palate, for only £9.50.
An a la carte
menu is also available from 5.30pm – 9.30pm
(except Monday and Tuesday) when a four course
meal with half bottle of wine can be enjoyed for
as little as £18.50.
